Scott Runyan our Case Manager is working with Mohave Community College and Phi Theta Kappa to raise funds for G.E.D. scholarships. He will be our chef for the evening, a Mexican Buffet! The dinner event is being held on September 16th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at MCC, Room 200F, Pavillion. Tickets are $70.00 per person (the cost of taking the test for a G.E.D.) and can be purchased at Cornerstone now. Live entertainment will be provided by "Beyond The Shadows Band". Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, IHOP will donate 20% of their sales in that timeframe to Cornerstone Mission. Are you suddenly hungry for pancakes?
Do you like to bowl? How about "Bowling for a Mission"? We will hold our first annual bowling tournament fundraiser on Saturday, October 9, 2010. 5 person teams can register now at Cerbat Lanes to participate. Team registration fee is $125.00. Trophies will be awarded for "Highest Game" guy and gal and "Highest Series" guy and gal. Raffles and Red Pin prizes! Don't miss out on all the fun - register your team today!
The bowling tournament will kick off HOMELESS AWARENESS WEEK in Kingman, AZ. Throughout the week we will have opportunities for the public to come and visit us to find out what we do first hand. On Wednesday, October 13th we will host dignataries in our community at our Soup Kitchen from 4:00 too 6:00 p.m. We will culminate the week on Saturday, October 16th with a walk beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Cornerstone. "Walk A Mile" in my shoes! After the walk we will host an open house at the Mission for the public until Noon.
Kingman Cancer Fair will be held November 13th and 14th this year (Saturday and Sunday). Be sure to visit our Baked Goods booth! Yummy.
"A Night in the Spotlight" Variety Show has been slated for Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Kingman High School Auditorium. This will be our 5th Annual Variety Show and is our largest fundraising event of the year. Last year's show was a complete success, raising just over $10,000.00. Once again, our show will be filled with top notch entertainment! Local artists volunteering their time practicing and preparing to entertain the community. It is a semi-formal evening, complete with luscious desserts and beverages during intermission. Our Silent Auction will be larger than ever, offereing opportunities for everyone to participate in the fun!
